The resort features six lifts and fifteen groomed runs, but it’s the off-piste terrain that draws serious skiers from around the world.

An old stone locomotive depot ruin, dating back to the early days of the Malmbanan railway, has been transformed into a luxury hotel with an adventure focus. Behind this venture are, among others, an award-winning sommelier and a certified mountain guide. Here, mountain adventures and gourmet experiences come together in a stunning and inviting setting.

The trail was established over 100 years ago during the construction of the Malmbanan railway. It was originally a route for transporting materials and supplies by horse and wagon between Abisko and Rombaksfjorden in Norway.

Today, the section between Riksgränsen and Rombaksfjorden is the best preserved and offers 15 kilometers of trail, perfect for mountain biking (or trail running and hiking) with breathtaking views and surroundings.

In Björkliden, about 28 kilometers from Riksgränsen, you’ll find Hotel Fjället and Restaurant Lapporten. The hotel offers a wide range of room types with four-star standards as well as cabins.
